TOP 10 TRENDING TECHNOLOGIES IN 2022

By

TARANA SINGHAL

The digital world it accelerating at a rapid speed. Technologies and tools evolve every day, we see new versions getting released every day. Being an IT Professions means that we too keep on updating our skills with accordance to new technologies trending in market. Let’s take a look at some new technologies trending in market right now.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE(AI) & MACHINE LEARNING (ML)

AI has been in talks for about a decade now. It is well known for its upper hand in speech and facial recognition, navigation, virtual assistants like Siri, Cortana, Alexa, etc. AI technology is everywhere whether in healthcare, data mining, banking, home, self-driving car or smartphones. ML is a subset of AI, that discovers rules causing a problem by using the data and finding a solution to that problem.

ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION (RPA)

Like AI and ML, RPA is essentially automating jobs. RPA automates repeatedly done tasks. It is the use of software to automate business processes such data dealings, transaction processing or application interpretation or even email automation.

HYPER AUTOMATION

Hyper automation makes use of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automaton to automate the maximum number of business processes as possible. The process involves identifying, inspecting and automating business processes through use of multiple technologies.

EDGE COMPUTING

As the quantity of data is increasing, shortcomings of cloud computing coming forward which can be resolved using Edge Computing which is designed to solve these problems by providing a way to bypass latency caused cloud computing and transporting data to data center for processing. It is the practice of capturing, storing, processing and analyzing data near the client, where the data is generated, instead of in a centralized data-processing warehouse.

QUANTUM COMPUTING

It is a form of computing that takes advantage of quantum phenomena such as superposition and quantum entanglement. It has the ability to easily query, monitor, analyze and act on data with no consideration to source. This technology is also involved in preventing spread of corona virus, and to develop vaccine. It also has applications in banking and finance sector, managing risks, detecting fraud and high frequency trading.

INTERNET OF THINGS(IoT)

Internet of Things is a system of interrelated computing devices, objects, digital machines, animals, humans, that have unique identifiers (UIDs), and this technology can transfer data over a network without human-to-human or human-to-computer interactions. Smart homes, smartwatches, digital health, connected cars and smart cities all have IoT involved in their development process.

BLOCKCHAIN

Although it is associated by most people with relation to cryptocurrency, however blockchain offers security in many other ways by creating a chain of data. Blockchain is just an innovative way of documenting data on the internet, also referred to as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLA). Information in blockchain is distributed and not copied. It can be in any form such as a transaction, someone’s Identity or ownership of something.

VIRTUAL REALITY(VR) AND AUGUMENTED REALITY(AR)

The role of VR is to immerse a user in an environment and that of AR is to enhance that environment for the user. Although this technology has been used immensely in gaming so far, but also in training in navy and army. This technology has a gigantic potential in education, marketing, healthcare and entertainment.

DEVOPS

DevOps is a mindset of sculpting the IT process and organizational structures to promote business value, software quality and continuous improvement. Using similar principles in DevOps, the workflow of machine learning and data engineering can as well be automated. The combination of machine learning with DevOps is called MLOps and that of data engineering with DevOps is called DataOps.

CYBER SECURITY

Cyber security might not seem as something new as it has been around for quite some time, however it is evolving everyday just as much as every other technology. As long as we have threats being posed, hackers and malicious attacks to defend ourselves from, cyber security will keep evolving to fight off the dangers.
